Eggless Savory Semolina Waffles Recipe

I love eating waffles for any time of the day and this eggless savory semolina waffles are my husband’s all time favorite. This waffles are very simple, quick and easy to make. So they are perfect for any day of the week. This eggless savory semolina waffles are very tasty and healthy and requires very few ingredients and can be made within 30 minutes. This recipe is eggless and vegetarian.

When I was young, my mom used to make semolina pancakes for me and I always loved them so I am using her recipe and making waffles. And when I made this delicious eggless savory semolina waffles for my husband for the first time, he loved it. So I had to share this recipe with you all. We make this waffles once a week for sure.

Preparing the batter for eggless savory semolina waffles is quite simple. Combine semolina, curd and water and mix. I love to add boiled corn to the waffle batter as well since I love the taste of it. But you can add any other veggies too. I am sure they will taste good as well. Some of the veggie mixing options are grated carrot, zucchini, cabbage or even finely chopped bell pepper or onion. To prepare the batter for savory semolina waffles, I am using dairy yogurt since I eat dairy products.

Now let’s talk about waffle toppings. If we are eating sweet waffle then we have options like maple syrup, fresh fruits and many other. I love to top my savory semolina waffles with fresh vegetables like sliced tomato and cucumber. I also love to enjoy them with sliced avocado on top, it add creaminess. For dipping sauce, my all time favorite is ketchup.

Ingredients
  • 1 Cup semolina
  • ½ Cup yogurt/curd
  • ⅓ Cup boiled corn
  • ½ Cup water
  • 1 Teaspoon salt
  • ¼ Teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 Teaspoon baking powder
Directions
  • Step 1 In a large bowl, combine semolina, yogurt, water, boiled corn, salt and pepper and mix nicely.
  • Step 2 Keep the batter aside for 5-7 minutes so that semolina gets chance to soak up the water.
  • Step 3 Now add baking powder and mix. Do not over mix.
  • Step 4 Heat the waffle iron and pour the batter.
  • Step 5 Cook the waffles until done. Enjoy!
